Year 1/2 Trip to Lincoln Castle

Today, we went on an exciting trip to Lincoln Castle! We attended knight training where we learned how to dress like a knight and how to shoot a bow and arrow! Then we designed our very own shields to help keep us safe in battle. After that, we attended a banquet! Four of us played the role of a King and Queen and a Lord and Lady and got to sit at the top table. The rest of us got to dress up as other important people and we all had a feast together! During the feast, we listened to Medieval music and pretended to be minstrels who played instruments while others danced to entertain us! Some of us also took on the role of jesters and tried to make us laugh with jokes! After lunch, we walked all the way round the Castle walls and saw lots of different features of the castle, including the motte and bailey, arrow slits and spiral staircases to name a few! What an amazing day!

Everyone set such an excellent example of behaviour throughout the trip and everyone was so inquisitive and enthusiastic during every activity. Well done children!
