An afternoon of scientific vocabulary and fun with Bubble and Squeak.

Before we started our topic on materials we recapped our knowledge from year one and the children really impressed me with what they had remembered about materials and their prosperities.

Looking after Bubble and Squeak is a very important job and they loved being on the field and having fresh grass to eat.

First day back to school in Key Stage One

The year two children were all very excited to be back at school and had a wonderful first day.  Look at the children in Mrs Cotton’s class practising the skills that they need to be successful learners.
These two children are being “have a go hippos” and trying something new. They followed instructions very carefully to make an origami dog.
Here they all are being “teamwork toucans” and working together nicely to get a job done.

The children also learnt that we need to be resilient, especially if we find things difficult. Making a domino run without knocking the dominoes down was very tricky but the children showed great resilience and determination to make long runs.

Being curious and asking questions is really important. These children are asking lots of questions to find out what animal they were.
