Creating an African Dance

For the past few week we have been learning and using African dance moves to create our own fabulous class dance. The beat of the djembe drums have helped us keep a rhythm as we have rehearsed all the moves separately. . .

. .  .  so that we could combine them into a dance routine involving the whole class.

African Art

We have used many different skills to recreate these African images. We have used sponges to paint with, pastels as well as cut and stick.

African Art

We have been busy with African art work this past term.

First we had to colour wash a background and then we added our African figures. We are really proud of the final results and they all look great in the classroom.

Olivia came to visit

We were very lucky to have a visitor yesterday. Olivia, from Rainbows, enjoyed playing Phonics Play games and practising her Phase 4 sounds.

Beatrice's Goat

Today we have been working in pairs and threes to generate sentences about Beatrice's Goat (a book we have been reading in Literacy).

We had to think carefully about the vocabulary we were using and work together to add conjunctions and extended noun phrases.
