We shared a book called The World in Infographics today. We enjoyed looking at how the information was presented using pictures, icons and pictograms.
We found out loads of amazing facts about animals and thought we would use some of the presentation ideas when we do our end of term topic and science assessment.
Last Friday we met up with Mr Batley's class to share books and a love of reading.
They read their own books and then listened while they were read to.
The children thoroughly enjoyed themselves and are looking forward to meeting up again.

African Dance with Mr. Toyne
This term we have been learning African dance moves. We have started with some basic steps inside a hoop, progressed onto dancing on different levels, using a count of eight to control our pace and rhythm and now we are using all of these things to create our own dance. It's been great fun and totally energetic, which has helped to keep us fit. See what you think...

Having fun with animation!
Using a new programme on the I pad, "Animate It", we have been exploring how animation films like Wallace and Gromit first started. By taking lots and lots of photos and moving an animal really small amounts each time, each pair produced a very short story of the animal moving. We all agreed that making a long film would take a lot of skill and patience.
Creating an African Dance
For the past few week we have been learning and using African dance moves to create our own fabulous class dance. The beat of the djembe drums have helped us keep a rhythm as we have rehearsed all the moves separately. . .
. . . so that we could combine them into a dance routine involving the whole class.
We have been busy with African art work this past term. First we had to colour wash a background and then we added our African figures. We are really proud of the final results and they all look great in the classroom.

Well done! You should all be very proud of yourselves!
Today we have been working in pairs and threes to generate sentences about Beatrice's Goat (a book we have been reading in Literacy). We had to think carefully about the vocabulary we were using and work together to add conjunctions and extended noun phrases.
